Nike Basketball has been digging into its archives lately as they've given new life to retro hoops models such as the Air Penny 3, and now it will be expanding upon this initiative by reviving the Air Total Max Uptempo. A nostalgic piece of Nike hoops history, the court-ready silhouette — which is closely associated with former NBA marksman Reggie Miller and league MVP David Robinson — is slated to return in its OG "Black/Volt" color scheme for the first time since 2009.
Uppers, which are primarily hued in stark black, are composed with mesh tongues, nubuck throat/toe box overlays and tumbled leather lateral and medial panels bolstered with rippled dimensions. Silver and volt accents follow suit, the former popping out atop the tongue stamp and heel tab's Nike wording, while the latter attaches to the Swooshes and insole branding. Furthermore, a hint of black patent leather detailing lands towards the ankle collar and heel region. Sole units layer a stealthy midsole adorned with a chrome-plated heel on top of a full-length Air Max unit dyed in the very same neon hue that is present on its base layer.
It has been confirmed by Nike that these will be launching on December 10 for $170 USD.
For other Swoosh footwear news, BAIT and Nike Japan have cooked up an A5 Wagyu steak-inspired Air Force 1 Low.
