Teva has called in Opening Ceremony for a vibrant take on Summer 2020 sandals. Back in April, the outdoor footwear label tapped atmos for a glow-in-the-dark Hurricane XLT2, but it's now delivering a more technical iteration of the silhouette — Hurricane XLT2 Gladiator, alongside a women's multi-colored Flatform Universal. The capsule marks the fourth collaboration between the two labels.
The Hurricane XLT2 Gladiator comes in black and gray colorways made up of a bevy of delicate premium suede straps. It boasts a removable ankle strap supported by a finely cushioned backstay that sticks out from the sandal's lower heel. A rubber "OPENING CEREMONY" patch logo sits next to a tiny "Teva" tag on the lateral side of the quarter strap, complemented by a silver-toned buckle that pops out from the sandal's soft textures. To complete the footwear piece, Teva's signature Durabrasion Rubber outsole has been added for optimal traction and comfort.
Compared to the monochromatic sandals, the women's Flatform Universal offers a splash of color to the capsule. It's a sprightly reinterpretation of Teva's classic Flatform model, boasting a thick midsole that stands two-and-a-half inches tall. The upper straps are constructed with tonal suede to emphasize the multi-colored accents below. Seven-layer EVA cushioning and a slip-proof rubber outsole round off the buoyant summertime silhouette.
Opening Ceremony and Teva's Hurricane XLT2 Gladiator and Flatform Universal are currently available on Teva's website for $125 USD and $100 USD, respectively.
