Tudor Dresses Its Black Bay Fifty-Eight in Navy Blue

Capitalizing on the massive success of the vintage-inspired Black Bay Fifty-Eight which launched during Baselworld 2018, Swiss luxury watchmaker Tudor has now launched a second iteration of the modern icon, now dressed in a sharp navy blue.

Specs-wise, this new blue version is pretty much identical to the original black BB58. The case is constructed from stainless steel and measures in at 39mm wide and 11.9mm thick, working with a sapphire crystal and screw-down crown to provide a water resistance of up to 200m. The dive bezel features a minute track up to 15 minutes, and comes in a dark navy blue matching with the tone of the dial. On the dial are round applied indices paired with rectangular ones at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock while the iconic upside-down triangle sits neatly at 12 o'clock, all of them lumed, including the classic snowflake hands. Powering the watch is then the same COSC-certified MT5402 automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and carrying a power reserve of 70 hours. To complete the timepiece, Tudor is offering three strap variations: a classic steel bracelet, a blue fabric strap with a silver stripe down the center, and a navy synthetic strap which resembles the texture of flannel.

For those interested, the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight "Navy Blue" is now available at various authorized retailers, going for $3,375 USD for the two fabric strap versions and $3,700 USD for the steel bracelet iteration. To learn more, head over to Tudor's website.

Elsewhere in watches, MAD Paris has crafted a scaled Rolex Milgauss with striking green accents.
