MSCHF to Re-Create Every Episode of ‘The Office’ on Slack

The Office has achieved cult status ever since its original nine-season run from 2005 to 2013, so it comes as no surprise that much of modern pop culture still references or taps into the franchise. Following a Zoom reunion of the cast members thanks to John Krasinski's Some Good News YouTube channel, MSCHF is now coming out with their own rendition of the show as well, interestingly via Slack.

In particular, the creative agency will be re-creating the entire 201-episode inventory of the iconic show through a series of public Slack channels that users at home can join, relying simply on text and various emojis and GIFs. The live sessions will run every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, and take place over different channels based on the show's work locations including warehouse, accounting, and general office chats. Other chatrooms like #watercooler and #smoke_break will feature non-work-related talk and commentary.

“Since The Office aired, the nature of work and office culture has changed drastically, a lot of which is centered around the way we use technologies,” said Daniel Greenberg, head of strategy at MSCHF. “This is a live experience by real people Mondays through Fridays, nine-to-five.”

Elsewhere in entertainment, Donald Glover has pitched a plot for a potential Community movie.
