visvim Refines Artisanal Americana for SS20

visvim is back this season with its SS20 lookbook, following FW19-20 imagery with a series of loose, breezy artisanal staples for the warmer months of the year.

Lensed in a remote backcountry against mid-century-style architecture, the lookbook showcases a well-considered range of Americana-infused garments that riff on Hiroki Nakamura's unique design sensibilities. This season's lineup features an assemblage of casual American silhouettes mixed with military-inspired motifs and leather goods, taking shape in the form of delicately brushed M65 jackets, indigo-dyed blazers, leather jackets, parkas, wool vests and new footwear.

Noteworthy pieces like the mud-dyed flight jacket and leather-tasseled Christo sandals showcase a refined approach to modernizing utilitarian silhouettes with a timeless feel. One highlighted garment is a leather cowboy blazer, coming in a lightly burnished caramel patina. A series of thin leather fringes hang over the chest and waist pockets as well as the sleeves, blending seamlessly in with the softly crinkled texture of the fabric. As a finishing note, three black buttons are placed at the central closure below sleek lapels. Other garments like the leather-patched denim, checkered pants, beige trench coats, pin-striped short sleeves and leather sneakers round up the expansive assemblage, showcasing Hiroki's penchant for loosely-tailored folk garments that have been crafted with soul.
