King Krule Returns as Edgar the Beatmaker on Jadasea’s “half-time”

Jadasea has dropped off his first new cut since 2018’s “Broken English,” tapping King Krule’s alter-ego Edgar the Beatmaker for a gritty lo-fi tune entitled “half-time.” Krule’s alter-ego has supplied some heavy-handed lo-fi production over the six-minute cut, offering up a poetic verse that sees him taking over the first half of the single. Split down the middle, the track is conveniently spliced into two distinct sections, an obvious part of its “half-life” meaning. Jadasea picks up the tracks latter half over a distinctly different, more hip-hop friendly instrumental.

The new track marks a return to form for King Krule, who has been absent from the musical sphere since 2017’s album, The Ooz. He recently teased via Instagram back in June that a new record was on its way.

You can listen to Jadasea’s “half-life” above.

For more new music, DJ Shadow just announced a new double LP entitled Our Pathetic Age.
