An enigmatic new bass talent named Brando has had quite a noticeable entry into the dance scene. A self-described “Ape in the Bass Jungle,” he was wrongfully mistaken as Datsik’s comeback attempt at first before carving a clear identity out for himself as a refreshing and forward-thinking force. He showed just how true he is to his performance aesthetic on May 11 in Denver, when he accomplished the rare feat of packing out his very first show at the Summit.
Staying true to the primal inspirations behind his artistry, Brondo’s show wasn’t a run-of-the-mill ticketed show. Instead, fans were required to bring a fresh banana in order to enter. This off-kilter exchange led to many laughs, unforgettable memories, and of course, a visual and literal feast. Once inside, Brondo treated his “Bass Troop” to an proverbially bananas set filled with heavy drops and powerful basslines. Be sure to keep an eye on Brondo’s comeup through his SoundCloud and Twitter.
