Marvel Donated Captain America’s Shield to The Smithsonian Museum

Rounding off a banner opening month for Avengers: Infinity War, Disney and Marvel commemorated their latest success with a trio of donations to the Smithsonian. The offering encompasses one of Captain America's shields and the Russo brothers' on-set director chairs, which will be allocated to the National Museum of American History's Division of Culture and the Arts wing. This particular shield, created in 2013, was used during the production of 2016's Captain America: Civil War; it was one of 45 shields made for the film.

Check out the entire lineup of superhero paraphernalia available at the museum on The Smithsonian's dedicated site.

Ahead of the eagerly anticipated Avengers 4, we recently explained who Captain Marvel is and what her role is in the Marvel Universe.
